Lancaster, PA (August 12, 2008) – The premier alternative arts and music festival on the East coast, Purple Door is gearing up for its 13th annual event this weekend, August 15-16 at Ski Roundtop in Lewisberry, PA with the addition of the option to purchase a discounted ticket for Friday night only. For the first time in Purple Door history, Festival attendees have the option to purchase a ticket for Friday night only. These tickets will only be available at the gates and are $25.
"We are excited to be able to offer Friday night only tickets, thanks to a sponsorship by Weaver's Garage," says Purple Door Director, Chris Strayer. "We hope those who may not be able to attend the whole Festival will be able to take advantage of this opportunity to check out the lineup for Friday night."
Purple Door kicks off on Friday night with Gulls and Kronicles, the two New Artist Showcase winners, followed by Spoken on the Gallery Stage. Main stage will host Seabird, Reilly, speaker Bob Lenz, Red and Skillet.
Saturday's lineup features The Mint, Denison Witmer, Derek Webb, The Showdown, Haste The Day, August Burns Red, John Reuben, Sherwood, Disciple, Emery and many more.
Another new addition for Purple Door 2008 is a special youth leader seminar, "Serving A Purple Door Generation" to be held on Saturday afternoon in the Ski Patrol Lodge. Pastor John Staffieri, Pastor of Student Ministries at Worship Center in Lancaster, PA, will discuss what makes this generation tick and practical ways to impact their lives. His heart is to see this emerging generation establish God's word as its foundation. Drinks and light refreshments will be available.
